City Guide — Districts, Travel & Daily Routine in Nivalis Nights

Nivalis is a city built above the sea — rain-soaked, neon-lit, and split into districts with very different economies. Where you shop, where you live, and how you get around all feed your business and your social life. This guide maps the confirmed districts, every way to travel, and the daily routines worth building into your schedule.

The 2 AM Curfew

Nivalis runs on a curfew: at 2 AM, the city locks down — security systems become a factor, and normal street life stops. Two things make the curfew matter (see the Day & Night Cycle & Weather Guide for the full time system):

  • Sabotage window: rival businesses can be illegally sabotaged under cover of the curfew — if you're careful around security systems. A profitable but risky tool in the business rivalry game.
  • Plan your day around it: venue hours, NPC schedules, and fishing trips all need to fit before curfew (or be night-fishing plans deliberately made).

Daily Routines Worth Building

  • Read the morning newspaper. It carries market information and business advantages — prices move by supply, demand, and weather, and the paper tells you what changed.
  • Check the weather forecast. Snow and storms spike energy prices; rain pushes customers indoors. Plan staffing around it (see the Day & Night Cycle & Weather Guide).
  • Walk your route. NPCs follow their own schedules and routines — regular walks past the same spots let you catch friendships, mini-games, and stories you'd miss from a taxi.
  • Use quiet days for exploration. Fog days, in particular, are ideal for aimless travel and uncovering hidden areas — the city rewards wandering.

Mini-Games & City Life

The city offers more than business: challenge NPCs in mini-games, enter the high-stakes cyberpunk chess tournament, and use photo mode (camera parameters, filters, editing) to capture the city. These aren't optional flavor — they're how friendships and reputation grow, which feeds straight back into your business via regular customers.

Next steps: Pick the district that fits your social strategy with the NPC Relationships Guide, and learn what the city's climate does to your bottom line in the Day & Night Cycle & Weather Guide. Based on pre-release information confirmed from the official wiki and press materials; district details may evolve at launch (September 29, 2026).
